In the Shadows
For much of this past year or so, I've stepped away from social media, and, if I’m honest, it even felt like I took a backseat to my own life at times. I distanced myself from people who loved me, forsook things that used to bring me joy, and avoided what I knew I didn't have the strength to face. Often times, I found myself sitting in pain, clinging to the comfort of familiarity even when it kept me stuck there. I isolated and retreated. I simply didn’t know how to show up. Afraid of being misunderstood, I hid, from others and from myself.
“I clung to the comfort of familiarity, even when it kept me stuck."
Stepping Into The Light
But ready or not, here I am, ready to open up again. I know that sharing my story may invite misunderstanding or even more pain. And yet, how much more can God use my weaknesses if I’m willing to be seen for who I am, so we can see Him for who He is? I don’t want to live from a place of fear anymore. I'm taking a seat smack dab in the middle of where God has me.
“I don’t want to live from a place of fear anymore.”
A Seat Prepared was Born
So, in an act of faith, I started A Seat Prepared. This blog was born out of the desire to cultivate a place where I can share vulnerably, create genuine connection and community, and help others feel less alone. I will begin by sharing a series of blogs that focus on reflections of the past year or so of my life. With the curtain pulled back, I trust that God will use every word and every weakness for our good and His glory (Romans 8:28). Where I take A Seat Prepared next is up to you; your feedback is vital to what I am building here.
“With the curtain pulled back, I trust God will use every word and every weakness for our good and His glory.”
What is A Seat Prepared?
What you’ll find here isn’t a highlight reel. It’s the raw, unfiltered story. In painfully vulnerable ways, I’ll share the ache, the failures, and the moments of joy I’ve found in God’s presence along the way. This space isn’t about being put together; it’s about rawness, vulnerability, and genuine connection. Wherever you find yourself, you're welcome to come just as you are. In fact, I invite you to come with an open heart and invite God to move; you might be surprised at what He can do when we offer Him even the smallest piece of ourselves. You can read more about A Seat Prepared and my story here.
My Hope For This Space
My hope is that in my weakness, you see more of God’s goodness. That you notice how grief and joy can exist side by side. That you remember how He weaves even the most fragile parts of our lives into His glory. My prayer is that you don’t just see my story here, but God’s steadfastness through it all. And maybe, just maybe, you’ll find rest in knowing you’re not alone in the tension.
“Maybe you’ll find rest in knowing you’re not alone in the tension.”
May I pull up a chair?
This is powerful, brave, and bold (just like you)! I’m proud of you continuing to shine, even when you feel vulnerable. God will always see you through every step, even when it’s difficult and you don’t understand your own path.
So proud of you for sharing your story, being so vulnerable and your unwavering faith. I will always be one of your biggest cheerleaders in life, even when we don’t connect as often as we should! Love you, Morgan!!
I am so excited to see this!! Our family has been transformed by your obedience to the Lord. You have inspired us and taught us how to trust in Him. In our weaknesses He is strong. No matter the circumstances around us, there is always joy in His presence. Our stories build connection with others so that we may share the love of Christ and what He has done in our lives and the lives around us. We are blessed to have you as a daughter and so excited for what the Lord has prepared next for you! Thank you for always trusting in Him. We love you always and forever!! Love Mom
So excited to see how the Lord will use this! Grateful to know you!!
